The Britton–Robinson buffer was primarily used in this study due to its universal characteristic for a wide pH range from 2 to 12. The pH values indicated in this paper were all measured at 20 °C and uncorrected. The pH values of the Britton–Robinson buffer solutions are temperature-dependent, especially in the alkaline region ( i.e. , 12.0 and 11.1 at 20 and 60 °C, respectively). Nevertheless, the fluorescence properties of our copolymers were not influenced by this temperature-dependent pH variation because the functional pH ranges of our copolymers were out of the region
