Abstract

Introduction: The implementation in Spain of the system of Specialized Healthcare Training (SHT) through residency has been a breakthrough in the field of medical education. The objective of our study was to know the current situation of health training specializing in Talavera de la Reina. Material and methods: Descriptive cross-over study performed “ad hoc”, by anonymous questionnaire sent by WhatsApp to Talavera de la Reina residents. Results: A total of 27 replies were obtained from which the 66,7% were women ranging mostly between 25-28 years, (72%). 70.4 percent had had previous contact with their specialty Analyzing the strengths of the teaching unit residents valued very positively: being a small Hospital, its geographical location, low volume of residents in training. Conclusions: The geographical situation and characteristics of the hospital in Talavera de la Reina are an incentive for the resident because there is an important area for improvement in the teaching methodology and research.
