Abstract
The Internet of Things (IoT) has become a transformative technology in the development of smart grids, offering unprecedented opportunities for efficient and sustainable energy distribution. IoT-based smart grids enable real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance, and enhanced decision-making capabilities, which can optimize energy usage, reduce operational costs, and facilitate the integration of renewable energy sources. This paper explores the role of IoT in modernizing grid infrastructure, the challenges associated with its implementation, and the benefits it offers in terms of sustainability and energy efficiency. By examining current technological advancements, case studies, and future trends, this paper highlights the potential of IoT to revolutionize energy distribution systems.
