Abstract
The integration of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies into the transportation sector has led to significant advancements in fleet management and optimization. IoT enables real-time tracking, monitoring, and data analysis of transportation assets, leading to more efficient, safe, and cost-effective operations. This paper explores the role of IoT in real-time fleet management, focusing on its applications for vehicle tracking, route optimization, and predictive maintenance. By leveraging IoT sensors, GPS tracking, and advanced data analytics, transportation companies can optimize their fleet operations, reduce fuel consumption, improve asset utilization, and ensure timely deliveries. The paper also discusses the challenges of implementing IoT solutions, including connectivity, data security, and scalability. It concludes by examining future trends in IoT and transportation, including the role of AI and 5G networks in further enhancing fleet management and operational efficiency.
