Abstract
Advanced ceramics are increasingly becoming critical in nuclear technology due to their exceptional performance under extreme conditions, including high temperature, radiation exposure, and corrosive environments. Unlike conventional materials, advanced ceramics such as silicon carbide, zirconia, and composite materials offer superior thermal stability, mechanical integrity, and chemical inertness. These features have made them suitable for fuel cladding, waste immobilization, and reactor structural components. This article examines the recent developments, applications, and future directions of advanced ceramics in nuclear fuel systems, waste management, and core reactor parts, demonstrating their value in improving nuclear safety and efficiency.
