Probir rizika u mentalnom zdravlju

Abstract
Mental health in school-aged children is an important component of their overall development, academic achievement, and future health. In this context, there is a clear need for reliable instruments for the early detection of children at increased risk of developing mental disorders.
The YP-CORE assesses the overall level of psychological distress across emotional, cognitive, and social domains of functioning. Among 8th-grade pupils, a positive YP-CORE result was found in 5.1% of boys and 10.7% of girls. In the 1st grade of high school, the proportion of positive findings was 5,0% in boys and 10,1% in girls. Systematic use of the YP-CORE enables early identification of children at risk and timely implementation of preventive interventions, thereby potentially achieving a positive impact on children’s mental health.
